Well ... Let me tell you a few things regarding comparisons.
1.- Compare by using Comparatives to find differences between two objects being modified. Take a look at the way the comparative adjective is written.
This post is smaller than my friend's.
These two guys are my friends but I like him, better
2.- Compare by using Superlatives to indicate an upper or lower limit of quality. Here, a subject will outstand other things. Take a look at the way the superlative adjective is written.
Roman troopers are the finest soldiers Europe has ever known.
My turtle ran the fastest of any in the race

Great ... let's go on with another ...

Wait!!!! What of larger adjectives!!!???
Well, that's easy, Read carefully:
- If the adjective has more than 3 syllables, Just add this:
Comparative: ... more impressive
Superlative: ... the most impressive
- And ... what about irregular comparative adjectives?
Well, as it happens with irregular verbs, you'll have to memorize them.
Good / Better / Best
Little / Less / Least, and so on!
3.- Compare by adding adverbs of degree to make an emphasis: a bit/a good deal/a great deal/a little/a lot.
Take a look at the way they are written.
Aragorn is by far the most cunning warrior in Middle Earth
My cooking skill is a bit better than hist.
You have taken a great deal off my shoulders!
4.- Compare by adding the expressions nowhere near as ___ as / not nearly as ___ as / nothing like as ___ as. WATCH FOR NECESSARY CHANGES.
This album is not nearly as good as their last one.
5.- Compare by joining 2 sentences containing comparatives. Make sure to express that if one thing changes, THE OTHER ONE WILL CHANGE AS WELL.

In accordance with Abdessalami (2002), the teaching of concession and contrast is connected to the writing skills more than grammar, yet grammar remains the backbone of accurate discourse.
A concessive clause is a clause which begins with although or even though and which expresses an idea that suggests the opposite of the main part of the sentence.
